What is VoIP?
VoIP, Voice Over Internet Protocol, allows you to make telephone calls using your Broadband Internet connection. VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the Internet then converts it back at the other end so you can speak to anyone with a regular phone number. You'll hear a dial tone and dial just as you always have. All the features like call waiting, call forwarding, and mail boxes are available, just like any other phone.
What Kind of Equipment Do I Need?
A broadband (high-speed Internet) connection is required. This can be through a cable modem, or other high-speed services such as DSL, and high speed Wireless. You plug in your VoIP adapter, plug your phone into the adapter and start making and receiving calls.
